About

A fight that will define the labour movement.

What makes Amazon iconic among capitalist actors is the combination of its scale, reach, and multi-dimensional dominance. Amazon’s profits come from its workers, and we’re the only ones who can tame it.

Amazon is an empire of unprecedented size and scope. Their logistics operation is at the very heart of their growing machine, which also includes music, entertainment, groceries, and hosting the majority of the internet on their cloud services. There are 43,000 Amazon workers in Canada, with nearly half of this massive workforce located in the GTHA. Most people work out of airport-sized Fulfillment Centers concentrated in the logistics hub of the country.

Organizing Amazon is a historic task. They’re praised and disparaged as the leading capitalist innovator of automation, workplace productivity and ecommerce. But the business practices that put Amazon ahead create a dystopia for the rest of us; a world where we all depend on and are beholden to a powerful corporate monopoly that treats workers like machines, pushing them to the point of injury to meet quotas and maximize profits.

Bold workers in facilities across the world are organizing Amazon from within to fight for control of their work and their lives. But we know that not only workers but their communities as well need to organize and fight back. Everyone has a stake in this fight.

Who we are

We are a group of trade unionists, community activists and researchers working with Amazon workers to bolster the fight within the facilities and to lead the charge against Amazon outside of the facilities. We invite you to join our independent grassroots effort to organize Amazon.
